Peab company Swerock will carry out a MD succession on January 1, 2022 when Mats Norberg will become the new MD. Mats will take over a business that in recent years has grown substantially in the Nordic region and made significant progress in climate change adaptation.
Mats Norberg will begin working at Swerock on September 1, 2021 and take on the role of MD per January 1, 2022. His most recent position is at NCC where he has been a division manager responsible for foundation operations in the Nordic region.
“Peab is a well-known group and naturally I’m familiar with it from my previous positions. Swerock is an industry leader and spearheads both environmental and technological developments. I really look forward to leading this great company to further success and creating value for customers but most of all meeting Swerock’s employees,” says Mats Norberg.
Mats Norberg will take the reins from Karl-Gunnar Karlsson who will continue to be MD of Swerock throughout 2021. In his roles as BA Industry Manager and MD of Swerock Karl-Gunnar has led the company’s drive for growth in the Nordic region with a number of acquisitions in paving and mineral aggregates, in particular the acquisition from YIT in 2020. The company has also made a conscious effort to produce more environmentally friendly products, for example launching ECO-Betong (ECO-Concrete) and ECO-Ballast (ECO-Mineral Aggregates).
“I’m very happy that we could bring in Mats Norberg to be the new MD of Swerock. Mats has extensive experience in the industry and has worked in several management positions at NCC, among them in paving and groundwork. I’m convinced that with his background Mats will continue to develop Swerock successfully,” says Niclas Winkvist, Chairman of the Board of Swerock AB.
