As the Nobel Committee geared up on Friday to announce the Nobel Peace Prize winner, the eyes of the whole world were on Donald Trump. Reason? In the days running up to the Nobel Peace Prize announcement, Trump was vocal (practically adamant) about how he deserves the award. He went as far as to say, “They [Nobel Committee] will give it to some guy who didn’t do a damn thing.”
Well, as the prize was announced, Trump was left high and dry and the award went to “champion of peace” Maria Corina Machado from Venezuela … and it was definitely not for “not doing a damn thing”.
Trump on multiple occasions claimed that he has resolved at least “eight wars in nine months”. Hence, he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Among (mostly disputed) claims was that of resolving a crisis between two nuclear-powered nations — India and Pakistan. Despite India’s outright denial of the US having played any role in the ceasefire after Operation Sindoor, Trump has refused to back down.
