Competentia,the international oil and gas project management and engineering recruitment consultancy todays announced the acquisition of the Houston-headquartered Argonauta Group of companies (http://www.argonenergy.com), in a cash and stock transaction.Competentia has signed an agreement with BP Norway AS for the recruitment of project managers and engineers. The contract is for five years, with the possibility of extention.BP Group, one of the world’s leading international oil and gas companies.

Argonauta provides senior consultants to the oil and gas majors, primarily for the drilling and subsea sectors of the industry. In addition, through its subsidiary Argonauta Training Services, it delivers comprehensive courses in all aspects of deepwater operations, drilling and well control.

Since its formation in 2002, Argonauta has established relationships with most of the Houston-based majors and leading service companies and counts Exxon, Chevron and Schlumberger among its main customers.

Offshore Support

Competentia Chairman, John Smith, commented: «The acquisition of the Argonauta Group is a major milestone in Competentia delivering on its strategy of building an international network to support the delivery of our customer’s projects. A New Company

Competentia, a former winner of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award, was established in 1998. The company’s services are primarily provided to leading oil and gas companies in Europe, Africa, America and Asia Pacific, by Competentia’s business units in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Norway, Singapore, Trinidad, USA and the UK. Agreement with BP

Competentia has signed an agreement with BP Norway AS for the recruitment of project managers and engineers. The contract is for five years, with the possibility of extention . BP Norway is part of the BP Group, one of the world’s leading international oil and gas companies. BP is present in more than 80 countries, has over 85,000 employees and provides customers with fuel for transportation, heat, light, retail services and petrochemicals household products. Interested and activities are concentrated in two segments: Upstream activities and refining & marketing.
