STOCKHOLM – Citi today announced the appointment of Per-Henrik Lewander as Nordic Cluster Head, Country Head and Banking Head for Sweden to lead Citi’s franchise across the Nordics. He will be based in Stockholm.
Per-Henrik Lewander brings extensive leadership experience to this role, primarily from his 25-year career at Citi. Most recently, he served as Chair of the Global Financial Institutions Group & FinTech, where he led a team of over 400 bankers across more than 60 countries and covering approximately 3,000 clients in 180 countries. His banking career also includes senior roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland as the Head of the Financial Institutions & Public Sector Group.
Per-Henrik succeeds Erik Savola who was recently promoted to Citi’s Head of Europe Corporate Banking, and he will report to Nacho Gutiérrez-Orrantia, Citi’s Head of Europe.

This appointment is the latest in a series of senior leadership hires for Citi in the Nordics, following the recent appointments of Tobias Åkermark and Kasper Dichow as Nordic Investment Banking Heads, and Fredrik Magnusson as Head of Nordic Commercial Banking. All three will now have a matrix reporting line to Per-Henrik Lewander.
Citi has a long-standing history in the Nordic region comprised of five distinct countries, with a presence in Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden for over 50 years, and serving Nordic clients for over a century. These appointments underscore Citi’s continued focus to continue growing the Nordic franchise.
